Our favourite Easter cocktail ideas
From cacao-rich cocktails inspired by your favourite Easter eggs to light and refreshing springtime flavours, there are plenty of ways to get creative with your drinks this April.
Whatever your preference, we have picked some decadent cocktails that are easy to make at home – whether you want to make an alcoholic or non-alcoholic Easter cocktail we have the perfect ideas for you to try out.
1. Speckled Egg Martini
This is a decadent, chocolate twist on the classic martini, using our Elizapeck’s Speckled Eggs and Velvetised Chocolate Cream to create a cocktail worthy of an Easter party. It’s opulent and creamy — ideal as a post-dinner digestif.
To serve two, you’ll need:
- 75ml of milk
- 50g of chocolate (we recommend our 70% Dark Chocolate Batons for nuanced cacao depth)
- 30ml of vodka
- 60ml of Velvetised Chocolate Cream
- 50g of Elizapeck’s Speckled Eggs
- Ice
- A cocktail shaker
- Two cocktail glasses (martini glasses work well)
Start by gently heating your milk until hot (but not boiling), then pour over 50g of Dark Chocolate and set aside.
Use a food processor to break up your Speckled Eggs, then spread them out on a plate and dip the rim of each glass into the mixture. The first thing your guests will taste is that delicate milk chocolate praline.
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine your vodka, Velvetised Chocolate Cream and the milk and chocolate mixture. Shake well, then strain this mixture into your glass and garnish with a topping of your choice.
If you want to upgrade this cocktail further, you could also use our Salted Caramel Cacao Vodka Liqueur instead of regular vodka.
2. Springtime Peach Prosecco Punch
This refreshing peach prosecco punch is sure to make your guests smile on a sunny Easter weekend. It’s a great cocktail for an outdoor party. It’s also handy for preparing in advance if you need a big batch as it does not require a cocktail shaker. Try not to make it too early, however, as the prosecco may lose its fizz.
Inspired by this recipe which serves six, we recommend using our Classic Prosecco. Lively and uplifting, it features delicate floral notes that will complement the peach and berries beautifully.
To make six servings of this light Easter cocktail, follow these steps:
First, add 700ml (three cups) of Prosecco to a large jug. Pour in 475ml (two cups) of peach nectar (you can usually find this in most supermarkets, however, other types of peach juice can work too).
Prepare your cocktail glasses by filling them with ice and a mixture of fruit. A few raspberries and blueberries work well, although you can also add fresh or tinned peach slices.
Pour the Prosecco and peach nectar mixture into your glasses, sip, and enjoy.
If you want to make this non-alcoholic, you could substitute the prosecco for lemonade.
3. Decadent Chocolate Easter Egg Cocktail
Those looking for pure decadence will adore this rich Easter egg cocktail. As much a dessert as it is a drink, it’s the ideal way to round off an Easter meal.
- To make one of these irresistible Easter egg cocktails, you’ll need:
- 50 ml of our Velvetised Chocolate Cream
- Chocolate bitters
- Two scoops of vanilla ice cream (or chocolate if you want to up the cacao content further)
- 30ml of milk
- A blender
- Ice
- Chocolate toppings of your choice
- A pinch of our 70% Dark Hot Chocolate Flakes
- A large Easter egg (optional)
To start, fill your cocktail glass with ice and leave it to chill.
Then combine your Velvetised Chocolate Cream, ice cream and milk in a blender and blitz. Add the chocolate bitters and blitz again.
Discard the ice from your glass and garnish the rim of the glass with the hot chocolate flakes. Pour the blended mixture in.
Decorate the drink with Easter chocolates of your choice. We recommend some of our crushed Elizapeck Speckled Eggs, a Caramel Chocolate Bunny, or one of our sumptuous Quail’s Eggs (sliced in half).
Alternatively, you can bring more opulence to the recipe by serving your drink in a hollow Easter egg. To do so, stand the Easter egg in a bowl or large glass so it’s stable, and use a sharp knife to carefully remove the top of the egg. It may help to warm the knife so it glides through the chocolate. Once the top is off, gently pour your Easter cocktail mixture in, decorate as you please, and serve with a straw.
Non-alcoholic Easter cocktails
If you’re looking for elegant Easter cocktails without the alcohol, these mocktail recipes are sure to hit the spot.
4. Rose Lemonade
This is a refreshing mocktail for anyone looking for a non-alcoholic refreshment. It balances the citrus tang of lemon with floral notes of aromatic rose.
Inspired by this recipe from With A Spin, this simple concoction will ensure your guests don’t leave your party thirsty. It’s straightforward yet effective.
- Start by making a simple sugar syrup. Do so by heating half a cup of sugar and one cup of water over a medium heat until the mixture starts to boil and the sugar dissolves. Set the syrup aside and leave it to cool.
- In a large jug combine one cup of fresh lemon juice, four tablespoons of rose water and the sugar syrup.
- Pour over ice and serve with garnishes such as rose petals or lemon slices. This is another great recipe to make in bulk before your guests arrive — giving you more time to hide the Easter eggs.
5. Velvetised Chocolate Milkshake
A lovely alternative to our Easter Egg Cocktail, this drink idea features our revolutionary Velvetiser to achieve an irresistibly smooth texture.
For this non-alcoholic cocktail, you can choose the type of chocolate you use. You could opt for mellow milk chocolate for a balance of creaminess and cacao notes. Or why not try a white chocolate variety? This one is perfect for children and adults alike. Alternatively, you can treat vegan* guests with a milkshake made from our dark or Nutmilk hot chocolate flakes and plant-based milk.
*Please note: we believe our dark chocolate and Nutmilk chocolate is suitable for vegans. However, as it is produced in the same environment as our milk chocolate, we cannot guarantee it is free from milk traces.
To make your Velvetised Chocolate Milkshake, you’ll need:
- The Velvetiser, our at-home hot chocolate system
- A single-serve sachet of your favourite hot chocolate flakes
- Ice
- 220ml of milk (dairy or plant-based)
- A cocktail glass
- Easter chocolates of your choice
First, pour 120ml of milk into your Velvetiser, and add 100ml of cold milk to an ice-filled glass.
Add your hot chocolate flakes to the Velvetiser, press the button and relax as the Velvetiser works its magic.
After 2.5 minutes, the Velvetised mixture will be ready to pour into the glass of cold milk.
Garnish with as many Easter chocolates as you like — from Sunny Side Up Truffles to White Chocolate City Easter Bunnies.
To make a frozen version, you could blend your milkshake with ice cream for a thicker and more indulgent texture.
