Whipped cream, coffee and chocolate; you can’t say no to a Tiramisu. We took inspiration from the classic Italian dessert to create our own bite-sized version, without sacrificing the bold hit of coffee and the signature tang to the creamy mascarpone topping.
Tiramisu translates from the Italian as “pick me up” or “cheer me up” and we hope our chocolate will do both. A relatively young dessert, most accounts date Tiramisu’s invention back to the 1960s, but the inventor’s identity or the region it came from is hotly debated across Italy.
Proudly made in the UK, our Tiramisu selector uses Arabica coffee to give it a strong but balanced flavour, and its rich flavour is offset with the tang of the creamy topping. We added a touch of yoghurt to give it an unmistakable tang to contrast with the sweetness of the 40% chocolate cup it is nestled in.
Expect three textures here; the satisfyingly snappable milk chocolate cup gives way to tangy whipped cream topping and underneath, the coffee flavour awaits with a smooth, almost chewy texture.
As you’d expect, these Tiramisu Selectors pair perfectly with a cup of coffee, either in the morning as a little energy boost, or as a bite-sized indulgent with your after-dinner coffee. Although our Tiramisu has no alcohol in it, it’s customary to add a little Marsala or Tia Maria to the classic dessert; if you’re feeling indulgent, why not serve the chocolate with a little tipple alongside it?
