Breaking news! It’s official… We’re opening the world’s first hotel made entirely from chocolate!

Coming Winter 2024 to Aberdeenshire, The Chocolate Retreat by Hotel Chocolat will throw open its solid chocolate doors for a limited time only (while the weather is cool enough for it to not melt).

During your stay, you’ll experience the height of chocolate luxury. Here’s a taste of what you can expect - along with a few surprises we’re keeping under wrap(per)s:

• Luxury en-suites featuring baths made with triple-tempered chocolate, for a gorgeously glossy shine and super-solid structure.


• Innovative – a world-first, we believe – chocolate bedding made from cacao-infused silk, for (literally) the sweetest dreams.


• Chocolate spa treatments where you’ll be slathered from head to toe with molten chocolate and cacao butter.


• A heated indoor cacao grove where you can learn more about the plants that make the hotel possible.


• Chocolate river and waterfall (guests are reminded not to drink from the river for risk of being swept away and becoming lodged in our chocolate transport tubes).


• In order to keep the hotel in pristine condition, guests will need to follow a few simple rules:


• No licking the furniture or walls – plenty of chocolate for nibbling will be provided to ease the temptation (just contact the 24-hour concierge).


• No outside clothing or shoes in the hotel to prevent dust particles and damage – you’ll be provided with specialist protective robes, slippers and swimwear.


• No hairdryers or heated tools in the suites to limit the risk of guests accidentally melting the furniture.
