Made with single-origin chocolate from Honduras, our 100% Dark drinking chocolate offers a deep, fruity profile with multiple layers of nuanced flavours. Real grated chocolate adds a whole new texture and taste dimension – it’s a far cry from mixing cocoa powder with milk. Although both are made from cocoa solids, the chocolate has a higher quantity of cocoa butter, the natural fat found in the cocoa bean. This gives it a smooth melt and a richer flavour. Taste the malty, almost-savoury notes of pure cacao blended with your choice of milk. Whole milk or oat milk add a rich creaminess, or if you’re looking for a powerful cacao kick with a savoury edge, you can simply add water.
We use more cacao and less sugar in all our recipes, and this one contains no added sugar, so you can adjust the flavour to suit your taste. Just add milk or water for the full intense experience, or sprinkle in a teaspoon of sugar if you prefer it a little sweeter. We’ve taken care to create the perfect blend of cacao beans to give a complex flavour that is delightfully rich without being overpowering. To create that unexpected smoothness, we conch the beans for longer than usual, which tones down the bitterness, bringing out those nuanced layers.

INSTRUCTIONS
HOT
1. Pour 220ml milk into your Velvetiser.
2. Sprinkle in 5 heaped teaspoons (30g) drinking chocolate.
3. Press the button and let the Velvetiser work its magic.
Alternatively whisk 5 heaped teaspoons (30g) drinking chocolate into 220ml dairy or plant milk and heat gently. Do not boil.
ICED
1. Pour 100ml milk into a tall glass with 6 – 8 ice cubes to get it chilling.
2. Pour another 120ml milk into your Velvetiser.
3. Sprinkle in 5 heaped teaspoons (30g) drinking chocolate, press the button and let the Velvetiser go to work.
4. When ready, pour the warm chocolate into the glass with your chilled milk and watch it mingle. Give it a good stir and enjoy ice-cold refreshment.
